Deadpool 2

Absolutely fantastic ****ing fun, couldn't imagine them outdoing the first but they succeeded. Definitely seeing it again.

varmint 05-20-2018 06:21 PM

first one is still better. but a fun movie.

mreid 05-20-2018 06:21 PM

Glad to hear it! I had high hopes for this sequel. I’ll be seeing it soon. Thanks for the review!

sammyg2 05-21-2018 06:11 AM

Wait, which one was the first one again? ;)

Looking forward to seeing it next weekend.

I can't wait. The first was just about perfect. My 16 yr old son want to see it as well.

varmint 05-21-2018 09:53 AM

I identify with Peter. He deserves his own movie.

sc_rufctr 05-27-2018 05:20 AM

I just saw it with my son... Great movie. Very funny and clever.

Too much cussing in both of them (I and II). Sorry.....I'm a little old school. Don't understand why there has to be so much profanity. Is that the funny part?

It's part of the theme. Super heros are good and pure, and this guy turns the whole thing on its head. Big time.

Makes sense. I get it.

I'm too old fashioned to enjoy that kind of humor though. At least in that dosage.

Thanks for the explanation. SmileWavy

Exactly.

Like Hancock, what if Superheroes were just normal people full of flaws like everyone else.

It's something I often think about when watching movies, what's the day to day?

How DO Stormtroopers take a dump?

What do they talk about at lunch?

Shaun @ Tru6 05-27-2018 06:31 AM

I'm seeing it again tomorrow night. There's so much eye and ear candy in the movie I expect it will be better the second time.

biosurfer1 05-27-2018 07:43 AM

I don't get it. If you don't like the cursing, etc, why did you see the second one? The first had a ton and everyone knew the second would be at least as bad and probably worse.

Evans, Marv 05-27-2018 08:41 AM

We saw it yesterday & laughed all though it. Like Baz says I think the use of the bad language could be less, even though Deadpool portrays a less than perfect hero. The give & take dialogues were pretty funny. I described it to my wife as "funnily violent." I'm thinking some other super hero movies in the future will be influenced by the Deadpool movies. One thing I thought was funny was their talking about the movie as being a movie while you were watching the movie. I laughed at his comment about choosing actors young enough to keep the franchise going for another twelve years.

A930Rocket 05-27-2018 09:36 AM

We'll be seeing it this afternoon.

I think I'm older than you and go to church so I am pulling my grumpy old man card!

I work around middle school kids and guess I'm desensitized hearing thirteen year olds peppering their conversation with f-bombs and GD this and that.

I thought the first one was fun and funny, I liked #2 even better (NO, NOT LIKE THAT!)
Actually I'm going to have to rent the first one because I missed somethings referenced in this one.

The end where he got a hold of the time travel wrist thing was hilarious!

stevej37 09-05-2018 12:29 PM

Is it only at theaters? I don't see it listed around here.

That goes right back to the comics, where he often talks directly to the reader.

Google "Deadpool 4th wall" and look at some of the comics (image search), you'll see lots of time when he basically turns around, looks at you the reader, and makes some references to his knowledge that he is a character on the paper. Heck, at one point, he gets fed up and tries to kill everyone (the writers, the comic producers, the readers) because he's sick and tired of being immortal, so he thinks that he needs to kill everyone associated with him to finally die.

Deadpool too vulgar. Why I never...

I rented it on redbox, that usually means it is no longer in theaters.

I never followed the Deadpool character so that is why I was a bit lost on the first movie but now I get the whole anti-hero, talking to the camera, and the other inside jokes.
