'Non-USA Parts"
Let me preface this by saying I have essentially rebuilt my 1989 e24 over the past 12 years with parts through Pelican....always great service, great parts, great prices. There has been 1 or 2 errors (not unexpected with the amount of orders I've placed), but these were very promptly corrected. I would recommend Pelican without hesitation......
but ......some of my orders recently have come back with the message that the part can't be supplied as it is a 'non-USA part". Whisky Tango Foxtrot? Is this a Pelican policy?, or BMW -USA? I understand special orders take a bit longer, but Pelican.......if I have to get my parts through BMW Australia I'll run out of kidneys before I get my steering sorted. What's the story? ![]() ![]()

Interesting. So I assume your car is a car that was built for the Australian market. I'm guessing here, but probably ~90-95% of the parts are the same between US and Oz market cars. Maybe this is just the first time that you've run into that 5% that's not?
Or, maybe the new owners of Pelican Parts changed a policy and now won't order/supply parts that Wayne did.

BMW-USA.
I have a gray market e30 and its become a big PITA to source ROW specific parts. Even people with all the required documentation and paperwork, are still being blown off, or at best, have a months long wait for a decision. ![]() ![]() Last edited by SoCal911T; 06-01-2018 at 04:30 PM.. |

Well, that sucks.
The frustrating part (see what I did there?) is that I'm just after a bog standard door handle, but in black rather than chrome. The blacked out "Shadowline" option was apparently never sold in the US............, so I suppose it's "Good-bye Kidney."
