STOP! Hammock Time!

Summer’s here and lazy days ahead. Looking for suggestions on a good hammock with stand. No Pawleys, sack or net type.

What have you guys found to be a comfortable backyard snoozin’, swingin’, shady retreat?

Hmm. Now that we've re-done our backyard, Mrs Noah was just asking that same question last week. She doesn't want the net type, either. I naturally thought of stores like LL Bean and Frontgate, but there must be other places that aren't so expensive...

If you are unsure of a hammock...these things are very good for snoozing! They lock into any reclining position.

Find a good stand or a couple of trees and get a good backpacking hammock like an ENO. The material is soft and a nice breeze makes it cool. I love them!

Dress appropriately.

I've been looking at 70s and 80s vintage lawn lounge chairs on eBay that I'll re-web.

Brings back memories....back in college, at least 6-8 buddies & I used to "weave" Hatteras rope hammocks....it was HARD work, you had to be very coordinated, bust yer azz in the HOT eastern NC sun, and if'n you were REALLY good at it...you could make almost 4 bucks an hour....FOUR!!!

Bad memories :(

.....but you could drop by anytime, say for an hour or two and make happy hour "beer money".... good times :)

....one of my bud's did it non-stop for 40 hrs/week one summer, he was a super athletic "machine" though...I never did think he was quite "right" in the head...he later became a lawyer ;)

This is the hammock I've been using for more than twenty years. I spend 30 to 45 minutes on it almost daily except for winter. It is the rope type, but my wife made a flannel cover for it. I use an old pillow and a sort of camping blanket for when it's cool. Bought it at Costco (or was it Price Club then). It fits just right between the columns on my patio.
