XM Radio Onyx Plus
 

I've been a subscriber to XM Radio since the beginning..early 90's.
One thing that always annoyed me was...tuning to a diff station and the new song being half-way over with.
I just bought ($89) and put this Onyx Plus in my Honda Fit and it has 'Tune-Start'
Whenever changing to a different station, the song starts at the very beginning.
I like it a lot! But how the heck do they do it? :confused:

It's The Carbonaro Effect.

Almost all of the stations are pre-recorded DJ, not live. They can send you the digital file instead of a "signal".

Ok...does that mean that two different xm radios could be playing different songs on the same station..at the same time?

Yes. It is also how the same DJ can be on 33 & 36 at the same time.

That also explains how the Onyx has fast forward and rewind.

My tiny little handheld has this feature. My 2017 F250 with Sync does not.
