I know weird stuff happens in war, things people just don't want to talk about......................but this takes the cake. Nope, not bashing out troops fellas, just trying to make sense of it all. This is as freaky as this war gets (I hope).

A North Carolina National Guard member thought to be the first U.S. soldier convicted of murdering an Iraqi said he "snapped" and shot the 17-year-old boy after they had consensual sex, according to court-martial records released this week.............................................. .........Interviewed a third time by skeptical investigators, Merida said he got angry after the two had consensual sex. When the boy went to the latrine, Merida began to craft an excuse for killing him.

Yea, yea, yea...............but this time there was no cover up, there was an investigation, and the guy is going to jail for 25 years.

This to me, at least says "wrongs" are wrong, and we have standards of conduct................we are not the bad guys, even if bad things happen.

I much prefer this approach to a cover up or worse, a secret policy of condoning murder or torture.

Note: Perhaps this incident should be classified as "Gay Radar Countermeasures".

married man has sex with another man then shoots him due to guilty concience (sp) .. has nothing to do with military other than they both were in the military ( allies )

I'm sure this isn't the first case like this and probably would have eventually happened if there wasn't a war only the victim would have been over here.

sad story though. I feel for the wife that has to recieve the news that her husband has killed a male lover and will be going to jail for a loooong time.

i have felt like killing myself after sex with a woman or two in my day but did not do it... i know you are all thrilled about that.....
