Cheney hasn't always been stupid
Here's what he said in 1992:
"I would guess if we had gone in there, I would still have forces in Baghdad today. We'd be running the country. We would not have been able to get everybody out and bring everybody home. And the final point that I think needs to be made is this question of casualties. I don't think you could have done all of that without significant additional U.S. casualties, and while everybody was tremendously impressed with the low cost of the (1991) conflict, for the 146 Americans who were killed in action and for their families, it wasn't a cheap war. And the question in my mind is, how many additional American casualties is Saddam (Hussein) worth? And the answer is, not that damned many. So, I think we got it right, both when we decided to expel him from Kuwait, but also when the President made the decision that we'd achieved our objectives and we were not going to go get bogged down in the problems of trying to take over and govern Iraq."

No one's ever called Cheney stupid, and what you have to remember is at the time Cheney spoke those words he was not even a millionaire.
He became filthy rich after government/Bush-1 service using his contacts to get HBR very profitable contracts. Follow the money, and you will see his motives.

Politically calculating and devious. Those adjectives apply to Cheney's Rovarian insistence that he would not have done anything differently.
Just think how a common sense, honest answer to the question would have upset things around here in PP OT land. What would fint do? Who would he call a traitor, for not supporting an admitted "mistake?" It's bad enough that the admin has finally admitted there were no WMD and no al Queda ties and no connection to 9/11. What would the faithful do if Cheney answered honestly and said "of course we would not have started this war if Iraq had no WMDs that posed a threat to the US" Bush/Cheney is all about power. Getting it, maintaining it, increasing it. If you want power, you keep people like fint on the kool-aid. Even if that means lying through your teeth.

Go back to 911.....everybody in the World shook their heads and said, "Bad Al Qaeda, its a terrible theing they did".....Kadafi Duck, the Syrians, Iran, Arafat and especially Pakistan.......the only ones who Applauded Bin Laden was the Taliban, SADAM, and a bunch of Palesteinians dancing in the street....and Bush Said, "Your either with us or agin us." and where are these people today...

I say we've proven nothing. No, Cheney isn't stupid. He, at least, has all the correct talking points. I think what is stupid on Cheney's behalf, is his and others' gross underestimation of the enemy.

U miss the point Deee deeee...All the guys who aplauded 911 are GONE.....the ones who said Ouuu 911 is bad for biz are still around....even though we may still have our differences.
Iraq has become a side show ....so forget it...1B a day is a minor amount of money in the scheme of things.... Iran is where the action is at...without Sadam Iran is the new bad boy on the block....they sure talk *****, and even have gotten their boy to do the dirty work in Lebanon. Either we take out Iran now and riskwar & economic catastrophe or we wait and risk war & economic catastrophe. So its a matter of when do you want it?

Cheney is both smart and honorable...something you liberals will never understand because you seem to believe that a guy like Clinton is the ideal...and that a smart guy is the one that always has some kind of scam...cheats on his wife etc. A guy who can trick others into doing their will or save himself with some sort of "definityion of "is"" defense.
Tabs is right, Saddam is gone, The Taliban is gone, Osama is in a hole somewhere, Khadafi has changed his ways, Hezbollah just got their rear stomped and the Palestinians are building a coalition government to include the moderate Abbas. Arafat is dead and Castro is not far behind. The Democrats are in disarray and the President's popularity is back on the rise. Get used to it.

Delusion must be fun, Huh my sabre rattling friend? Honorable? Nope. I'll pass on that one.
Honest, your post are becominf more desparate and shrill. It's almost like you are beginning to doubt your dedication but too ashamed to admit it. Rant on, friend.....
