Lou Dobbs tonight

I was flipping through TV and caught him with a panel talking about uninsured in the US. When you take away the 20+ million illegals, the 10+ million that pay their own way, the 10+ million that just never signed up for anything, you actually get a small amount of American Citizens uninsured. And, even then, very few go without health care. Even illegals get free health care now. Whats the rush?

I could be wrong, but I think that the problems extend beyond a few uninsured persons...

I think the number of uninsured who don't want to be uninsured is around 8 million. That's 2.7 percent of the population. We're going to destroy the whole system to account for a small fraction of the population that is smaller than the unemployed, who will probably only be uninsured temporarily. I'm sure once you look at the "chronic" uninsured, it drops to under 1%.

It's an excuse to expand government control of our lives. It has nothing to do with helping people.

Legion is right. The reps and the system are just trying to breed dependency. Our govt can't get anything right. To think it will help health care (which is NOT a right) in any way is pure stupidity.
I, my wife, and children have been at the verrrry bottom. We were told we did not qualify for welfare because we were not divorced/estranged. They did however give us food stamps. Yep, I was the guy in front of you buying steak and lobster. They gave way more than we needed, it happened to be the only bright spot in our lives 20 years back.
Sad really, our government is set up to destroy the very thing that made us strong, the family unit.
Non of us would even need to pay a FEDERAL TAX if our corporations, or the FED had not been allowed to run rough shod over our representatives. We are picking up the abundant slack that the void of tariffs has left behind. We have sold out for greed and consumerism.
Now the more naive and simple minded members of our nation want to give yet another responsibility to the very entity that has proven time and time again to be inept at best at running anything of any consequence. It can't even effectively wage a war(one of the very few originally enumerated responsibilities).
Another thing. Why do people get to come to and live in MY country illegally with no real consequence, yet I can't even drive 10 over without consequence? I say the fed and the state should worry about enforcing the laws we already have, effectively..... before sticking their hand into the cookie jar.
Make no mistake this is just a greed grab, and a more focused plan to create a cast system in this country than ever before seen...... nothing else.

You retards.
The main thing that is going to change, is the insurance companies have to go through an insurance exchange. There will still be insurance companies.
They will just have to be on a regulated insurance exchange.

The stock exchange is regulated and there are rules, the insurance industry isn't. That's why your insurance rates have doubled or tripled over the last few years. Do you not care about that?
It's not only causing inflation and businesses going under, but bankruptcies as well.
Most of you don't care because I pay your insurance premiums for you, through higher prices. What I don't pay, you pay through lower wages.

If you were going to buy a stock? Would you buy it from a guy that wasn't on the exchange?
Why not, He could just tell you that rates have gone up and we have decided to not pay your dividend.

You conservatives are funny. The big businessmen who aren't in business.
I'm sick of paying your healthcare, get out of my country you destructive loafers.

Of course insurance companies are regulated. You libs are such morons. You make up "facts" as you go along...and the only ones that are fooled are other ignorant liberals.

Dipso,
I'm sure you're an ok guy, and I bet we'd be budds at a treffen or a DE. But you just don't get it. The fed's attempt to regulate any thing is a joke. Let put it in a way you can understand "pissing IN-TO the wind".
Barney "NOT SO" Frank, Maxine"POLLUTED"Waters, the congressional black caucus and all the others of your mind set really hit one out of the park when they stepped into "regulate" the lending process. Look at were we be now. Man they really know how to "regulate" effectively don't they. I'm astounded that any one could think any of this "regulation" could or has worked. NO common sense ZIP nada!

Dip, please don't bother to post unless you have some small inkling of a clue of what you are talking about. It's better to remain silent and thought a fool than to open your more and to remove all doubt.

Insurance is more heavily regulated than you can ever imagine. Why are insurance rates going up in some places? The short answer is usually government intervention. Guess what? Every time the government requires more of insurance companies, it costs more--usually A LOT more to provide insurance. All those laws cost money. Couple that with plaintiff's attorneys (trial lawyers) gone wild, and you have a recipe for accelerating costs caused by government, which they in turn blame on the entity that they are regulating, and use as an excuse for more regulations.

Names are there for reason. Go back a few posts and you will see, just off the top of my head I destruct your talking points.

Oh no! An economy that is not burdened with out of control health cots!

You know, If the government said
" All of a sudden the employers no longer have to pay for the healthcare of their employees" . I would be cool with that.

But as a business owner I always thought that was kind of bull ****.

Considering there are so few owners, compared to employees. No wonder it passed.

It is like saying "All the people with a house, pay the insurance for the people on their right.

The guy with an end unit says "*****en"
Like I have said before,
You loafers get out of my country.

It would cheaper for the Feds to buy insurance from Blue Cross & Blue Shield for the 8-15% that don't have it.
