Frenchy, I forgot, France now has the 2nd largest Islamic population in a non-mid-eastern country.
You guys did it again, you raised the white flag and threw down your weapons.... Your piddly uring smelling country is by far the worst country in Europe. You fell hook line and sinker for this guy's bullcrap. You need to wake up and realize that this guy is a fraud. You called me numbnuts. Does your profession have something to do with checking Men's testicles? Yes, all of his quotes were taken out of context but the matter still remains, HE SAID THESE THINGS!!!! The French National Flag ![]()

To claim that Obama is Muslim is to attribute a level of sincerity to him which to this day he has yet to demonstrate -- in anything. It's obvious that he spent many years growing up in Indonesia. During that time he learned how to pronounce many of the Muslim expressions. Many people do when they live in a country, it's part of learning the culture that you live in.
I've spent a week (in total) in Indonesia and during that time I've tried to learn the correct way to pronounce certain things. He spent at least a few years there and I'm sure learned more local expression than I did. You can't judge people by superficial things like that. Basically there is one way to be a Muslim, that is to repeat "There is no God but Allah, and Mohammad is his messenger" 3 times in front of some Muslim witnesses. Once you've done that you are (according to the Muslim definition) Muslim forever. In spite all of that, Obama doesn't seem particularly devout no matter what religion he is. After 20 years with Wright's church, he was all to happy to throw him from the bus when it became politically inconvenient to be associated with him. He hasn't demonstrated any particular attachment to any other set of beliefs so far, why should we presume he's got a strong attachment to Islam?

His father was muslim. his mother's second husband was muslim. Obama attended a muslim school for a while when young.
he had muslim pakistani roommates at occidental college and columbia university. He mysteriously got accepted to Harvard even though his grades probably wouldn't be considered good enough. He didn't have an obvious way of paying for it either and some folks think he was "sponsored". His mother lived in Pakistan for many years. Obama visited Pakistan after he graduated even though no one can figure out how he paid for the trip. He didn't mention the trip in his book which is odd but spoke of it several times during his campaign. After he got back from the trip he worked for very little money, probably not enough to pay off huge student loans if he actually had any. Those records are sealed for some reason. He bought a million dollar house not long after that. he has kissed the butt of every muslim group he has come accross since he became president, even giving Hamas (a radical muslim terrorist group) almost a billion dollars. He has **** on israel at every chance. There are many things in his past that raise questions. His ties to islam are very strong and too numerous to ignore. |

Just because a guy grows up with everyone around him hating America and loving Islam, doesn't mean he turns out that way. Look at the preacher's daughter! However, he hasn't given us any reason to believe he has anthing but contempt for America. On the contrary, he's gone out of his way to apologize to everyone for all of our mistakes.
I don't mind a guy droning on about America warts and all. But all he can comment on is the warts. And to paraphrase one of my favorite columnists - Spengler - W's problem was he thought that he could turn Iraq into Peoria, IL. Zero thinks there's no difference between Peoria and Iraq!! This freak was the product of a perfect storm and was elected with 52% of the vote as a novelty candidate. But the novelty has turned into a disaster. He can't even bring himself to call the Ft Hood terrorist a terrorist!! WTF was he? We're circling the drain and the big O can't see the terrorist for the trees.

The freak was elected because an alternative just didn't show up...combined with the freak lying through his bloody teeth about virtually every thing. Only the astute knew what he was - how he would turn out...the extent to which his covert agenda would "...transform this Nation."

The French were right about Iraq? Like it's a coin flip? It's a little more complicated than right or wrong.
Hey, maybe they were right about Germany in 1914, or Germany again in 1943, or the Soviet Union in 1945. But mostly they're irrelevant, except in the impotent talk shops like the G-8, the UN, and the climate conferences. Paris, Brussels and Copenhagen - great at endlesssly bumping their gums, generating treaties that no one will ratify, and writing 500 page constitutions for the EU that no one will buy into - useless at getting anything done.

[QUOTE=cmccuist;5003112]The French were right about Iraq? Like it's a coin flip? It's a little more complicated than right or wrong.
[QUOTE] You are absolutely correct, it is a little more than a coin flip. That is why the French always maintained an intelligence presence in Iraq, where as the Americans did not. And the French were able to state that Bush was wrong in invading and that Iraq did not have WMDs. But what did Bush do? Just a simple coin flip, right or wrong. Bush did not do complications. It made his brain hurt. As far as France being irrelevant, they were the first country to respond to America about 9/11. In the 3 weeks after 9/11 they set up a clearing house for all coordination of terrorist intelligence from Britain, Russia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Greece, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the US. This effort has been instrumental in improving the compilation and analysis of terrorist intelligence like no other effort before. It continues today. Did you know about this? I bet you did not. The US, even under Bush has praised this cooperation and much needed service. It has directly been responsible for the foiling of several terrorist plots. What you need is an education and less BS from Rush and friends.

The French set up a clearing house for all intelligence information? That was their contibution?
OK, that is very useful. I did not know about that effort. But that's like the guy who empties the spit bucket in a heavyweight fight. He's in the corner, but he's not really in any danger of actually getting hurt. And he isn't really all that necessary. This kind of thing is right in Obama's wheel house. Gather information. Study it. Get a panel together. Play some golf. Go to the UN. Craft a strongly worded resolution condemning Israel. Intelligence gathering is useful, but without some action to back it up, it's not going to matter in the end.
