Expiration Date for Betadine Solution

My wife took our lab to the vet because he's developed a rash on his stomach.
The nurse gave her a betadine solution and when my wife got home she noticed that it was past the expiration date on the bottle. She called the nurse and the nurse said the exp date is there by law but not to worry the betadine solution doesn't expire.
Does that sound right?
Any Vets wanna chime in?

Thanks in advance.

Obama hates big Pharma and makes them place unnecessary expiration tags on their product to mess with them. It's all his fault.

Bush hates dogs and created a loophole to sell outdated doggy meds to mess with pet owners. It's all his fault too.

There, I parf'd it up for you. Now I'll be serious.

No, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. Good luck with your pup. He should be fine.

how is this religious ?
and is your google broken?

Povidone-iodine the chemical in betadine is listed as stable
and it is not like bugs can grow in a strong anti-biotic that also kills yeast and fungus

my Vet uses "Betagen" on herself and while discussing that she also told me that expiration dates on that and topical antibiotics are quite conservative

if it was a year out of date, I might worry.

REQUIRED PARF LABELING:
besides the political angle, you may want to find out what religion your vet belongs to...

Hint: Santaria is one to avoid in a vet
