Where's my gold USA?
(More free-money aftermath. We need to audit the Fed now at the very least)
European central banks are asking for their gold: Is Gold Suffering Under ECB Margin Calls? | ZeroHedge Switzerland Wants Its Gold Back From The New York Fed | ZeroHedge Meanwhile the "official" US inflation rate doesn't match the CPI (consumer price index): Is America Hiding Its True Inflation Rate, and Could the U.S. Be as Insolvent as Greece? | Libertarian News "If we calculate the inflation rate the exact same way the government did prior to 1990, the inflation rate is averaging around 6.5%, which is basically double the official rate. However, if we measure inflation the same way the government did back prior to 1980, the inflation rate clocks in at a mind-numbing 11%." Apparently quite a bit of Federal Reserve gold stored in the WTC went missing after 9-11: 9-11 Research: Missing Gold "Assuming that the above reports described the value of precious metals in the vaulst before the attack, and that the $230 million mentioned by Giuliani represented the approxmiate value of metals recovered, it would seem that at least the better part of a billion dollars worth of precious metals went missing." Just a few months before 9-11, a new lessee gained control of the property: 9-11 Research: Controlling Interests After the attack, Silverstein Properties commenced litigation against its insurers, claiming it was entitled to twice the insurance policies' value because, according to a spokesman for Mr. Silverstein, "the two hijacked airliners that struck the 110-story twin towers Sept. 11 were separate 'occurrences' for insurance purposes, entitling him to collect twice on $3.6 billion of policies." The first two articles are pretty sobering.

(and the last two are tin foil material...?)
Personally, I would think that any portion of missing physical gold would be cause for alarm... The Federal Reserve hasen't been audited in quite a while. But who cares, eh? |

I think it is the Treasury department that owns the US gold. I am not sure what the Federal Reserve owns. It is not really part of the Federal Government.

Exactly, why convert two valuable items paper and ink into a dollar bill. They actually pawn off the printing onto the treasury dept.
What a great racket!

Where does one even buy minted Silver and Gold coins? Then if you get those, where do you trade them in for the worthless fiat currency (for true market value)?
I know these "Cash for Gold/Silver" stores are all over the place, but do they just melt it down and store it? Or do they sell it back to the Fed and Banks for tons of 0s and 1s?

Hmmm. Many gold bars in U.S. reserves found filled with tungsten(similar in metalurgy).
This apparently was discovered a few years ago. SilverDoctors: Tungsten Filled 1 kilo Gold Bar Discovered in UK "Roughly 15 years ago – during the Clinton Administration [think Robert Rubin, Sir Alan Greenspan and Lawrence Summers] – between 1.3 and 1.5 million 400 oz tungsten blanks were allegedly manufactured by a very high-end, sophisticated refiner in the USA [more than 16 Thousand metric tonnes]. Subsequently, 640,000 of these tungsten blanks received their gold plating and WERE shipped to Ft. Knox and remain there to this day." More:http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/Article14996.html There is one theory that the missing gold is no longer in this country..... |
