The Press Buries Hillary Clinton’s Sins

From the WSJ today

The Press Buries Hillary Clinton’s Sins

As reporters focus on Trump, they miss new details on Clinton’s rotten record.

If average voters turned on the TV for five minutes this week, chances are they know that Donald Trump made lewd remarks a decade ago and now stands accused of groping women.

But even if average voters had the TV on 24/7, they still probably haven’t heard the news about Hillary Clinton: That the nation now has proof of pretty much everything she has been accused of.

It comes from hacked emails dumped by WikiLeaks, documents released under the Freedom of Information Act, and accounts from FBI insiders. The media has almost uniformly ignored the flurry of bombshells, preferring to devote its front pages to the Trump story. So let’s review what amounts to a devastating case against a Clinton presidency.

Start with a June 2015 email to Clinton staffers from Erika Rottenberg, the former general counsel of LinkedIn. Ms. Rottenberg wrote that none of the attorneys in her circle of friends “can understand how it was viewed as ok/secure/appropriate to use a private server for secure documents AND why further Hillary took it upon herself to review them and delete documents.” She added: “It smacks of acting above the law and it smacks of the type of thing I’ve either gotten discovery sanctions for, fired people for, etc.”

A few months later, in a September 2015 email, a Clinton confidante fretted that Mrs. Clinton was too bullheaded to acknowledge she’d done wrong. “Everyone wants her to apologize,” wrote Neera Tanden, president of the liberal Center for American Progress. “And she should. Apologies are like her Achilles’ heel.”

Clinton staffers debated how to evade a congressional subpoena of Mrs. Clinton’s emails—three weeks before a technician deleted them. The campaign later employed a focus group to see if it could fool Americans into thinking the email scandal was part of the Benghazi investigation (they are separate) and lay it all off as a Republican plot.

A senior FBI official involved with the Clinton investigation told Fox News this week that the “vast majority” of career agents and prosecutors working the case “felt she should be prosecuted” and that giving her a pass was “a top-down decision.”

The Obama administration—the federal government, supported by tax dollars—was working as an extension of the Clinton campaign. The State Department coordinated with her staff in responding to the email scandal, and the Justice Department kept her team informed about developments in the court case.

Worse, Mrs. Clinton’s State Department, as documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act show, took special care of donors to the Clinton Foundation. In a series of 2010 emails, a senior aide to Mrs. Clinton asked a foundation official to let her know which groups offering assistance with the Haitian earthquake relief were “FOB” (Friends of Bill) or “WJC VIPs” (William Jefferson Clinton VIPs). Those who made the cut appear to have been teed up for contracts. Those who weren’t? Routed to a standard government website.

The leaks show that the foundation was indeed the nexus of influence and money. The head of the Clinton Health Access Initiative, Ira Magaziner, suggested in a 2011 email that Bill Clinton call Sheikh Mohammed of Saudi Arabia to thank him for offering the use of a plane. In response, a top Clinton Foundation official wrote: “Unless Sheikh Mo has sent us a $6 million check, this sounds crazy to do.”

The entire progressive apparatus—the Clinton campaign and boosters at the Center for American Progress—appears to view voters as stupid and tiresome, segregated into groups that must either be cajoled into support or demeaned into silence. We read that Republicans are attracted to Catholicism’s “severely backwards gender relations” and only join the faith to “sound sophisticated”; that Democratic leaders such as Bill Richardson are “needy Latinos”; that Bernie Sanders supporters are “self-righteous”; that the only people who watch Miss America “are from the confederacy”; and that New York Mayor Bill de Blasio is “a terrorist.”

The leaks also show that the press is in Mrs. Clinton’s pocket. Donna Brazile, a former Clinton staffer and a TV pundit, sent the exact wording of a coming CNN town hall question to the campaign in advance of the event. Other media allowed the Clinton camp to veto which quotes they used from interviews, worked to maximize her press events and offered campaign advice.

Mrs. Clinton has been exposed to have no core, to be someone who constantly changes her position to maximize political gain. Leaked speeches prove that she has two positions (public and private) on banks; two positions on the wealthy; two positions on borders; two positions on energy. Her team had endless discussions about what positions she should adopt to appease “the Red Army”—i.e. “the base of the Democratic Party.”

Voters might not know any of this, because while both presidential candidates have plenty to answer for, the press has focused solely on taking out Mr. Trump. And the press is doing a diligent job of it.

LA Times today, not one article about HRC's hacked emails, but pages about what a pig Trump is.

So much stability in the world is there because of a strong US. Can you imagine the Middle East with a free pass?

I don't think that you guys understand... DT said, a decade ago; "they let you grab them by their pussy"

The media MUST report on this before all else. and for the next few weeks.

But seriously, I do wonder what the revolution will look like. I expect at the top of the list is lawlessness of The People . I mean, when the govt is lawless, and/or as a special set of laws --like insider trading and blessed money laundering-- then why should The People pay taxes? Why should The People not spit in the food of the MSM media? Why should The People sign up for the military, or to protect this lawless cabal?

Rumor is there are quite a few in the FBI really pissed about Comey's actions. Will anything come of that? Or are those people too afraid of complete tyranny from the top squelching their pursuit of justice?

It is amazing that such a Corruptocrat has remained viable this long, in the land of the free / home of the brave.

Ted:

She may be, but she will still be in control of the executive branch. And she will choose at least one Supreme Court justice and throw the balance to the Progressives.

For example, a recent court case in Connecticut, against Bushmaster (Remington), was dismissed because of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. Arrange this sent to the Supreme Court after adding a Progressive, anti-gun justice, and PLCAA could be overturned.

How about if a new ruling is made that lead in bullets and primers CAN be regulated by the EPA?

It would be helpful if, in those 33k emails was a clear admission that the leaker was identified within the DNC. Oh, and plans to remove that leaker on a late night in DC.

But this 33k were from long before the murder (robbery, dontchakmow). So, not likely.

It may be that key people will begin to become disappeared. That way, in the beginning, there will be enough confusion and not enough evidence to point fingers. After which, it will escalate until martial law is declared.

All sides will want to suppress an outright revolt.

Whatever happens, the tactics and strategeries will be nothing like we have ever experienced before being that there is a gun behind every blade of grass.

HRC attracts people that are damaged or get sucked into her amoral web of corruption. She is poison to anybody who associates with her.

She will first implement an "assault weapons" ban. You know, for the children. If she can't get the votes in Congress (a process which she'll also use to identify allies / useful idiots and enemies / deplorables to later be disposed of) she will do it by executive order. Those AR-15s everyone just bought? Gonna be illegal. Same with them Saiga-12s, mini-14s, AKs, etc. They will be systematically confiscated by federal decree. This isn't paranoia, it's a predictable doubling-down on what Bubba already did in the 1990s.

The next step will be to get the SCOTUS to reverse the Heller decision. One SCOTUS pick and that's a done deal. Easy peasy. She will likely get three or four more picks also, but it will only require one to dispose of Heller. This will pave the way for making the rest of private firearms (no longer Constitutionally protected for individual ownership) illegal. She can then sit back and watch the most liberal states (NY, IL, CA, MA, HI, etc.) take it upon themselves to round up the rest by state legislation. That will be the canary in the coal mine for determining the next steps: depending on how it goes, the method and pace of a subsequent, federal-level total ban on private firearm ownership by individuals will be determined (again, this will be either by E.O. or Congressional legislation as necessary). Likely she'll try to keep the pace of it just slow enough to keep a full-scale revolt at bay but fast enough to avoid failure / stalling out. It will be done one state at a time per region too, to minimize collaboration across state lines by dissenters looking to organize against the bans in their states - also to prevent spreading ATF and LEO resources too thin.

I've said for years that it's only a matter of time before primers are banned. People can load their own ammo and easily source brass, lead and powder components but it's not possible or practical for primers to be homemade. That will kill off reloading and home-grown ammo manufacturing. That isn't the end game though - a full ban on the private ownership of firearms of any sort is - nothing less.

It's coming. Count on it.

^^^ Sorry but I don't agree. Americans will never give up their guns peacefully. Your government knows this so at the very worst they'll introduce back ground checks and tighten up the laws.

Telling, from the WikiLeaks, is Hillary's insistence that govt be Doing Things. --she told her Goldman buddies how Dodd Frank came about simply because govt. needed to do something --not to fix anything, but rather-- for the appearance that govt was Doing Something.

Fundamentally, govt needs Balance. --Not constant change for the sake of change or apperances.

Yet, to the progressives, they don't want a govt balanced for the people. They want a govt packed full of power for the political elite. So, they constantly seek reasons to re-architect everything.

California is setting up to seize "assault rifles" now.

An outright ban on high cap magazines starts in January. I have not talked to anyone that plans to comply. People that have probably never broken the law in their lives.
