Jason.
FYI, the new price of BBS LM should be about HK$21,000.00. In fact, not much choice of wheels for our 964 T unless you are willing to pay HK$25,000.00 - HK$35,000.00 per set. Have you read Adrian's book? I have one and it's quite informative.

Hi Billy,
Yes, I did pick up Adrian's book. Do you have any pictures of your car now?

Jason,
I got my 3.6T back in June but were busy in decorating my house and it was just finished. Therefore, I have no time to take photos for it. Meanwhile, my 3.6T got other problems after its back, e.g. steering rack leaking, wheel bearings, ICE setting, etc. and etc. I have just placed an order to UK for required parts. BTW, why dont' we gather with the other members here to have a "photo day"?

Hi all,
I am the new guy on the block. Unintentionally I found this forum and thought it's a good idea to become a member to share and pain (and the joy) of nursing a 93 3.6T. Just a question. Where do you folks go for repairs for your Turbos?

I take mine to a guy in Fo Tan, Carrera Motor sports. Not sure about where to go in Kowloon or the Island. I understand Jebsen has discount services now for us owners of old cars so you may want to check their prices also.

Billy, you mean the one that had been advertised on Carcity a while ago with asking price dropped from $468K to $428K? No. It wasn't me. I bought mine on Jul 02 and the color is dark metallic purple/grey interior. I am the 4th owner (the previous guy traded in the 3.6T/Masarati for a used 550 Marenello at IMSS) and mileage was <11K when I bought it and I have clocked another 24K since then ....
Bruce, thanks. Are you happy with the service level so far with Carrera Motor Sports? I have been using Gembella HK (a.k.a Continental Motorsports) in Kwun Tong for a while and just want to explore other options in the market. Do you know there's another so called 'Porsche specialist' called Road & Track? Jason, just a suggestion that you'll be careful when you are searching for the LMs. Recently I helped my friend to look a set of LM (both 18 and 19) for his modified R33 and some independents out there really would ask for outrageous prices. Suggest you go to the dealer at Causeway Bay first to get the 'official' price as reference (the do Japanese BBS though) before start your bargaining. At the end my friend asked a reputable workshop in Tin Hau to order a set of plasma finished 18 RSGT and waited for >2 months. It was a pretty long wait and you don't want to get it wrong. Good luck. And make sure the offset is correct for the T as well.

dchan,
Yes, I mean that. For Road & Track, you may visit their web-site at http://www.ratmotorsport.com.

Hey Billy,
Guess what? I saw that blue 3.6T this morning in the Wan Chai 'old' convention center carpark. Plate number is LP 2XXX. And the road tax is due on Dec 2004. Apparently whoever bought it paid only a quarter and not a full-year road tax and I guess we may see this car up for sale again very soon. The overall condition is ok. The paint, the sills, all plastic parts are in fair condition and the wheels, again have a few chips and rust spots which are so common with those Speedlines. Can't see the interior as it's dark but I believe it has the potential to look very good if time/effort is invested. THanks for the link. Will check them out later today.

dchan,
carrera motor sports have been good in their work performance but the scheduling of when a car will be complete leaves a little to be desired. If that is important to you then better to go to someone else. I have been happy with the quality of the work and the boss Mr. Wong knows a lot about Porsche activities in HK and will also help you find and sell cars if you want.

dchan - might have saw your car at gembella a few weeks back. it looked in great shape.
undecided on wheels. my LMs are great, but wouldn't mind more lip and a side of bling.... GP edition of LMs are interesting too - go to love the japanese porsche magazine.

Bruce,
Thanks for the comment. Actually same could be said for Gemballa too. I have no doubt about their competency but the chances of getting the car back on time are as good as striking the lotto. I have also heard about another guy in the Wong Nai Chung/Aberdeen area who is also claimed to be a Porsche Specialist. I don't know the name of the shop but one of my friends called for gear replacement (to mimic a close ratio box) and the labor cost alone was quoted to be HK$10K. Pretty stiff but I will check out the 'joint' later and share the observation if anyone of you want to explore more options in repairs. Jason, Thanks for the kind words (if what you saw was really mine). My plate is KR XXXX and shod with original/reburbished 3.6T wheels. I was there a few weeks back for a pair of new front Rosso tires. I guess mine is the only 3.6T in town with metallic purple/grey color combo so should be easy to spot. Learned something new today too as I have never read Jap Porsche Mags. Will check them out. In my humble opinion, LM is already the 'standard' as I have lusted after the Limited edition LM for SO long. But I agree with you that they look a tad 'tamed' as the lips are not wide enough to give an aggressive presence. Well, if you are willing to part with 40K or so, BBS MSPs should be the wheels to end all wheels! Pure racing stuff! Else the only 'big lips' I could think of is Cargraphics but I am not sure if they look good on 964s. The ideal would be the original Speedlines on 964 RSR 3.8 (or the 993 GT2) as the darn offset for the rear tires are so huge they look so over-tired. But I have no idea where to get them.

Guys, before I forget, any suggestion on front strut brace ? (also called tower bar?) I have seen Brey Krause's carbon strut brace but can't find a dealer who wish to entertain overseas order. Any suggestions are welcomed.
