I tried. Even drove Hansel to work today so I could drive right to the pub. Put everyone on notice that I was leaving early even. Apparently the boss had other ideas.

Don't believe all that.

It's all in your attitude and some gene's help. My dad's family, 9 brothers and sisters, lived to between 85-95. GENES

Attitude: I flew airplanes until I was 72. Loved it and then decided I'd had enough and I don't miss it. Now I want to complete my 'bucket list'. Travel in my motor home and see all the country and mountains from the ground i watched go by from 40,000ft. Get out and be active. I started golf at age 72, walk 1 mile with my dog everyday, plus moderate exercise 3 times a week.

Play with my old cars from those memories growing up.

Plan for your retirement. You want to as close to debt free as possible. Medical, make sure you've got that covered as it can really throw a monkey wrench into your plans. My VA covers me 100%.

I turn 75 Monday and look Forward everyday!!!!!!

If that chart is accurate, then that means that the average retirement age of American males is about 59 or 60 years old, because the average American male lives 78.6 years!

Kent:

In the interest in Fake News, I left off the discussion of why that report has been discredited.

I agree with all of your points. My folks lived to 95 (dad) and 99 (mom). Why, took care of themselves, found interesting things to do to keep their mind and body working etc.

I retire at 66 and expect to have along, fun filled run to the end.

That's it Harry it's all in your attitude. Some think what am I going to do when I retire. You'd be surprised how busy you are. I have to write it all down on a notebook in my kitchen but it turns out to be a long list , not everyday but often I can't get it all done in one day and the great thing is you can postpone everything when ever you want. Sometimes I just sit in my garage and talk to my cars. Then the sights and sounds of each day. The spring colors coming up and the fall colors going down. Sitting on my back deck with my pets, or a wife if I had one, and watch the sun go down. It's amazing how much of that I missed when I was working.
