Now that's a head turner. I remember someone in south Florida who had the same colors and raced in the vintage races.

When I was at the Vintage races in 2018, I saw this one. The owner said he did not like the green but rather than repaint, added the Hippie Livery.

Wow! You went into the future, to 2028, to see it! Wow! Were they sharing some of the drugs that facilitated the paint job choice?

It's okay Jim- those drugs are now all legal in Oregon!

Hmm..maybe they would help with my knee rehab!.... Nah; like the Marines say: "pain is good, extreme pain is extremely good!"

Eric and I had a fun trip out the Gorge thru Corbett, Mosier, Rowena Crest Viewpoint and back to Hood River for lunch....using old Hwy 30 when possible.

Looking down from Rowena I believe at the curvy roads calling our names.

We found most everything "locked down" in Hood River due to Covid restrictions, but there were some "take out" places open. We hit a little Asian noodle place and had our lunch on their deck.

Here's younger brother.

And older brother as well.

Hauling back to PDX at the end of a great day on the Oregon backroads.
Great idea from Eric for this trip.

This was the 1st time I've really had the 914 out for much of a drive.
I picked it up from Rothsport about a year ago, didn't really drive it at all that winter and this year my knee has prevented me from really driving anything with a clutch. The new knee is about 3 months out now and doing great, so the drive with a clutch was a piece of cake. More to come this year plus some auto-crossing I hope.

Oh, and the 914-6 looked amazing on the historic roads!

Great fun Doug!

Very nice. The Rowena curves is one of my favorite spots. Kind of like a miniature Mary Hill Loops.

First time I did it was a long time ago after I stopped at Route 30 Classics and Steve Demosthenes (RIP) told me to take it. Too bad he has passed, really liked him and the shop.

Very sad that he is gone. I'd run into him every so often, when I used to work in Hood River.

When the surgeon asked me my goal for the surgery (at pre-op) I told him "do the STP in one year". He responded "yeah, you better plan on that being 2 years". So; we will see how quickly this progresses, but it is certain to be slower than I would like. Max 30 minutes on simulated flat ground is about the limit right now.

My goals were a little less lofty.
I wanted:
1) To sleep without pain
2) To climb stairs without pain
3) Be able to use a clutch again
4) Be able to play golf again

The 1st three goals already realized after just 3 months since surgery, and hopefully #4 (golf) will happen this Spring.
It is a bit interesting how long these knees take.
They basically take their own sweet time if you ask me.
Gotta be patient.

Sounds like a plan. Hope to see you at Autocross and maybe a HPDE or two.

After seeing the video of Eric's day at The Ridge Motorsports Park up in Shelton, WA....I definitely want to go there for a day. And local auto crosses for sure.

I'm close to #1 & 2 at this point (coming up on 6 weeks). I can walk around the block with less pain than pre-surgery (not saying much, though!). Making "excellent progress" (per the PT), but damn this is a slow process.

It is slow Jim. But by the week 6-8 timeframe, I started to see big improvements in many areas. Before that, it had been very frustrating and even demoralizing at times. At 3 months, you'll wonder what all the fuss was about. You're nearly half way there.
