Don't let Eric "Toad" Hahl fool you. He's just trying to get you to let your guard down. He's a mean GT Legends racer. Now me on the other hand - Eric will attest to my suckiness behind the wheel

I play every once in a while. Haven't raced on-line in forever though. Josh was just trying it for the first time on my computer a few weeks ago.

My new thing is the Xbox 360....I'm waiting for Forza Motorsports 3 to be released. it has many Porsches to drive. Hey, I gotta get my driving thrills somewhere else now that my car is in pieces

I was able to prove 2 things in GTL:
1) I suck at it
2) If you miss the turn, you can cut across the in-field and launch the 3' drop off the wall, back onto the track

I have a recon report for the Moon and Sixpence British pub:
  • Easy access off of Sandy near the 84
  • Good selection of beers
  • Food selection was standard British pub. I recommend the Cornish pasty, I do not recommend the Fish and Chips. My wife says that the pub food was better in Britain; ya think?
  • Fairly quiet, but we were there on a Saturday afternoon
  • The barkeep says they can set tables aside for 10-20 people inside, though Wednesday night is their live music night. The music starts at 8:30, so he didn't think that would be a problem. If we decide to go there he asks that we call in advance
  • Tons of picnic tables outside
  • Reviews have varied wildly, saying either that the service was great or that it was horrible. We got the "great"
  • Parking is on street, though there is an antique store parking lot across the street that we could probably annex.

Jim, thanks for checking this one out. Sounds like it might be worth a try.

Okay chaps, no promises but I'll do my best!

Rasta - does that mean you're actually going to show up this time

In my hayday (rum days???) I'd give you a run for your money at darts. After about 5 Capt n' Cokes, I was unstoppable. I'd leave everything open except bullseyes and just run up the points. I think my record was around 8 or 9 in a row. Of course, this was wussy soft tip darts. I never quite mastered hard tip. I also threw much better with the crappy bar darts and never had a set of my own.

So, we will try the Moon and Sixpence? Sounds ok but a buddy of mine thinks that they may not be able to handle a large goup at a single table.

The barkeep says they could put a number of tables together in a corner for us, but this place would really be better during warmer weather, as they have about a dozen picnic tables outside. There is a shelter to keep away precipitation out there, but it would probably be a bit cold in mid-November.

Any other spots in contention? Kennedy School? McTarnahan's again? Suggestions?

I would vote for McMenamins Edgefield, as that would save me driving clear through Portland.

Yup - second Wednesday of the month. I'll add another vote for Kennedy School.

Paul, you wouldn't have to drive through Portland to get there. It's a pretty easy drive off of 84, to 205 to 30 to 33rd. Kennedy is on 33rd.

If Kennedy is the choice, let me know and I'll set up a reservation for 5:30 for us.

Let me know where and I will be there. Kennedy is nice since it is close to work.
