Gravitex or Raptor Bedliner
I used raptor Bed-liner on my golf cart and am very pleased with the outcome it has held up well.
Raptor can be tinted and also uses a hardener Gravitex is single stage. Anyone use raptor as chipgaurd??? Im tempted to use it over gravitex for reasons mentioned above. Anyone have any thoughts?? |

bed liners make for bad chip guards. a bed liner is pretty good for scratch resistance and taking one hit from say a stone. but not so good for sand blasting from tires always kicking up particles.
a chip guard is a softer more rubbery surface to absorb sand blasting from tires so it will out last a bed liner material. people will use it and some will say it works great but i have seen to many times how it doesn't hold up as well as a stone or chip guard. the fact is they are two different products made for two different applications for a reason. |

Who makes a good brush-on or rattle can stone - chip guard??
Wanting to protect my new $500, galvanized fuel tank, I scuffled the heavy primer and applied two coats, (four on the bottom), of Herculiner brush on bed liner. The original tank had areas of rust and, under the stone guard, perforation, by the front lip. Does it make sense to apply chip guard over the "Herculiner"?. I have only a small construction compressor and no application gun, so would prefer brush or rattle can. Thanks, chris |

My car is just getting ready for paint, I like the fact that the Raptor is tintable, notwithstanding 962's concerns which are definitely making me think on it. Main thing is that I want the colour to match somewhat which makes Gravitex a bit of an issue in that regard as you then have to paint it after application. Not the end of the world, but another coating....
