PPG paint formula for Oak Green Metallic

Hi-

I live on Kauai, and PPG is all I have access to, can anyone help me with ordering the correct PPG products to mix up Oak Green. Going to spray my 74 Targa myself I have nothing to loose after the trauma she experienced.

PPG is excellent paint as well..

The color is listed as available from 1976 thru 1980 with a code of 265 - PPG cross ref code 45234

Listed again as available from 1991 thru 1993 with a code of L22L N9 C - PPG cross ref code 46947

Also in 1997 with a code of L22L 52 C - PPG cross ref code 46947

Pretty sure what you want is the first one.. I have a 78 Targa that I'm helping my cousin put together and that was the code we used. We've only done the tub to include engine and trunk compartments so far. Turned out nice.

The paint supplier will look-up the formula and mix which can vary from by manufacturer, and steely-eyed paint mixer.

Yep. That would be the one (265 - Oak Green Metallic) per the Red Book although it starts with the 78 SC in this book. It is a standard color.

As to self painting, clean your gun to a fault. All the other rules, I cheat on. But being lazy on gun cleaning has cost me.

Good luck!
