My 79 911 interior looks like it was formerly brown - so at some point in its life; the previous owner painted the interior black (dash/carpet and all) with a spray gun.
Im now starting to redo a good chunk of the interior now, and thought I would post to see if anyone has ever experienced this ie. removing the paint in someway to not **** the leather up too much, or is it pretty much a goner? I feel like the leather would just come out damaged no matter what... am I stuck re-wrapping or painting it again? Id love not do paint, as this was a horrible job already; lots of dripping and orange peel. any tips/advice/articles would be great! I found a few articles but it seems to be related to people spilling paint and cleaning it up right away; who knows how long ago this was painted hahaha ![]() Last edited by dgtlhybrd; 04-17-2021 at 02:30 PM.. |

I have seen leather seats ect. successfully color changed, by stripping the old finish with lacquer thinner and then dyed. I would search out a vendor that specializes in leather dyes. Rob
