coating after new paint
After putting on 4 good coats of single stage urethane and letting it sit for a month before wet sanding with 1500 and 2000 and then a buffing My question is about applying a ceramic coating in the final job?
Thanks, Rick |

Check The TDS it should tell you, or ask your local jobber. Many paint suppliers don’t recommend ceramic coating on freshly painted cars.

Unless you can find out better information, I'd guess wait three months.

Google it, it will take 5 minutes to get your answer, I would say no on ceramic over single stage just a hunch.

personally I tell all my customers not to wax the car for 90 days. this is to let the finish come to a 100% full cured state.
I think thing like ceramic coatings are a total waste! all a car needs is a few good coats of a quality wax. your protecting your car from what with a ceramic coating ? bird ****! road grime ! lets see your baby sits in the garage with a car cover on her much of the time you only take her out on nice days you already keep her nice and clean. our black 2016 Ferrari 458 we have owned sense new all I have ever done is keep her washed and waxed and detailed we drive the car pretty much year round and the car still looks new. we took her to a Ferrari meet a few weeks ago and this guy with his black 488 ceramic coating ask my wife what ceramic coating we use because his car has swirl marks and ours doesn't. he didn't believe me when I said all I do is use mothers wax. |

If you never wipe your car in a circular motion, you will not have any swirl marks in your paint.

Ceramic coating over a properly prepared surface is amazing. I f you see swirls under ceramic coating, that has nothing to do with the ceramic, it is all in the paint correction prep. Ceramic done right, with proper paint prep is amazing.
