Dyeing Leather interior parts
Does anyone have experiance with dyeing leather interior parts. Looking for recomendations on methods, materials etc.

I have no experience with it, but since I think I'm the only one who regularly browses this forum I'll throw out what I know. As far as I know, all leather is dyed or somehow colored, at least in the automotive world. I have read that when leather is completely refinished or restored, they actually sand it down. After this is done, it has to be re colored. I am fairly certain that using this same method it would be possible to change the color of your leather, although I'm not sure about going from a dark color to a lighter one, say from black to tan. Personally I don't think I'd bother unless it was for some really special project, but as far as i know, it can be done. Hope this helps...

New to the page, but I have a friend who changed professions to do auto leather dying. In talking with him, the results are awesome, and the cost isn't crazy... You still have to deal with leather degradation, but if you can get stock seats to last you a few more years looks wise, I imagine that'd be worth it. I'd check out the yellow pages just to see what a pro would cost...
