How to fix this??
Okay,
In another thread I made mention of an issue I have with both of my front fenders. An idiot (me) put some dents in the fender which are proud of the contour one night while pounding the lip flat to clear big tires..... ![]() So, how so I fix this? Should I cut away the roller portion of the lip or leave it? Is this a simple hammer and dolly routine or not? While I am at it, anyone care to educate me on how to hammer some additional flare (stretch) into the metal, or should I put that out of my amatuer mind?? ![]() Take a look.... ![]() ![]() Cheers

Did we mention a better set of hammers??? there is the excuse..
Don't hit hard and and you could use the rubber block as a dolly. Rudy

Yes, I am going looking this weekend for better hammers.........
I do have a couple of dollies that I can get behind there, so I guess I should get at it!! Would you remove the paint before tapping it down? Cheers

Check out this guy, he does some fantastic metalwork on ghias and 914s, but the techniques will work for giving a bit of room in the fenders...

Well gents, after a day of hiking in the California mountains, NOT my idea, I am back to my opinionated ways.
Jeff: tap the dents at first and then strip the paint to finish it, you are gonna put a little metal glaze anyway.
