Fiberglass Valance
Seriously considering a GT Racing FG replacement valance (with oil cooler slot and brake cooling ports). Would have a "real" paint shop do the final coat of paint (GP White). How difficult would it be to fit this panel?

From what I understand it's kinda a crap shoot. The product itself is fine. The issue is the cars are basically handmade. So fit is very dependent on the car . What year car do you have? But the few posts I've read they haven't been a problem. If you do go that direction please post a few pics of the instalation. I also have been eyeing one from them. And an FYI, if you haven't thought about it... pre-fit the valence first then have it painted.

Mark, thanks for your reply. Sounds like we may be reading the same threads. I've read everything from it's very do-able to you should have a professional shop do it.
I have an '88 Carrera and I will surely mount the valance first and probably do some preparation DIY before the final paint. (Getty Design has some really good installation/preparation info) I think I will call GT Racing and hear what they havce to say. If I do decide to do it, hopefully, I can get some help from this forum if needed.

That's awesome. That is the next project for me I believe, the lower valence. You'll get all kinds of support from the folks here. Again if you do it soon take a bunch of pics and post those questions when needed. Let me know here what Getty has to say.

all fiberglass pieces need some massaging, I will suggest dry fitting first, actually mount it like if it was done, make all your mounting brackets and adjustments necessary to make it look good, then have it painted. As for the prep work, beware of pinholes around the edges.
