SC Targa Rain gutter on Windshield side cover?

I remember reading a post on this a while ago.

Anyway. the conclusion was that their does not exist ANY product i.e. RUF, Pelican, Perf Prods, Porsche TO FILL THE TARGA RAIN GUTTER ON WINDSHIELD EDGES!! (IS THIS THE A-PILLAR?)

So, is this is so, how can we get some made? I think I recall that someone was going to use their car to make a mold to make them? was that me??

I will gladly be the guinney pig but I need some help here from the board to not screw up the car.

In my case the best would be to cut off the gutter but that is too invasive, costly, and I am not able to afford that or tool up to do the welding.

I hope any and all can jump in here so I can do this for all of the TARGA fans out there who want to cover their rain gutters.

Post away!!!
Thanks, Bob

well... I can't leave my post as the only one here with "0" views...
Does anyone possibly have a link on where to get more info on doing this for the TARGA?
As I mentioned above, I will volunteer to be the "do-er" to figure out how to do this if someone with experience wants to be the pilot from their computer and guide me here in doing this. I will post pics... as the project goes and we all can figure out what the process takes and if Targa is more different than just the angle? of the edge.

I am still not sure as of what you want to do, a cover will be too bulky, even if you make it at an angle, if you had some kind of picture or drawing it woulld help.

thanks Rudy for your reply.
Basically I am trying to figure out a way to reduce noise, mainly, at speed caused by the rain gutter on a targa I am restoring. I am trying to figure out a way to not cut off the rain gutter which is how some resolve this, thus I am seeking help on possibly making a "cover" to place over the gutter.
I am also led to believe that the angle on the targa and I believe the cabs is different than the coupe's?
That is as far as I have got... any idea's??
Bob

For what I can see, unless I put a caliper to measure the angles. they are pretty close, but I see a little difference with the windshields, I have one here that we installed a 993 windshield and the countour is a lot smoother, one of my clients told me that with this windshield, the wind noise was reduced a lot, other than to cut the drip rails, you may have to fab a piece and feather it around the top of the windshield.

Maybe I will hit my head and my thoughts will get re arrangeg and come up with something.

thanks Rudy, however, that only fits on coupes. I checked it out. Thanks for the idea.

I recall a previous thread on pelican and the different angles were confirmed.

Are you up for making a fiberglass or any material one for me? Or, care to help me make a stencil and then a mold and then try making 1 to see how it fits... I unfortunatly have a lot of experience with fiberglass...

have any ideas???

I will go shoot some pics of the tub now I am restoring so we can have a visual while we kick this around.

How about aluminum, that is very easy to manupulate, once you cut the piece to the desired shape you can use something like marglass to bond it and some filler to smooth it, you will have to do it with the windshield out to hide the one edge under the rubber.
