Floor pan alignment issues

Hi All
I purchased a front floorpan for my '66 from Resto-design. After doing more digging into the car I decided to replace the pedal area also. I tried to order from resto again but was told it would be back-ordered for at least a couple of months. They suggested going to stoddard. So I ordered the pedal (or hump) replacement piece. Well, while doing some test fitting I find there is a 5"-6" gap between the two panels. What do you think, should I order the floor pan from stoddard? Wait for the back ordered piece from resto? Any other suggestions? Any opinions on the quality of one over the other? Any ohter solution I'm overlooking?

Thanks everyone!

I just finished fabricating the pedal area for my '68; the floor pans (front piece was purchased RD) go roughly six inches past the corner and have a slight rise that should come right to the base of the pedal area (from what I can see in the thumbnail on Stoddard's site). If it doesn't reach, it's not a stretch to use a thin strip of 18 ga. CRS to fill the gap, I would suggest bolting up the steering rack and making sure all of the points are in alignment and going from there.
