911 Rain gutter replace/repair

Anyone have any experience with replacing a rain gutter on an early chassis? I've got a 68' 912 and the drivers side gutter is rusted out, basically gone. Someone filled it with bondo and painted over it. I've checked under the headliner and everywhere and it looks like it's just rusted out. I first thought the car had been rolled and fixed but I can't see any evidence of prior repair. I know the roof and sides come together in a 3 point weld that makes the gutter just haven't talke to anyone that's actually dealt with it. I've considered replacing all 4 pillars and roof but seems excessive if it's just the gutter itself.

Check the base of the a-pillars about 2-3" from the cowl to make sure there isn't more damage. If there isn't, it'd probably be best to just put a new section of roof in. Replacing the pillars on these cars isn't necessarily hard but it's not fun unless you have the front window template handy.

Yeah, I wanted to try to avoid that since I do know what work it requires. Don't have the window templates but I guess it wouldn't be that hard to actually make your own.

I think making one would end up being a tremendous asset. You'd need it for any a-pillar or front end replacement, and it'd make a great conversation piece in the living room.
