Porsche Crest 1966 911s doors

Looking at replacing sheet metal door-skins on the 1966 911 I was hoping for advice on purchasing the highest quality available. It seems odd that Stoddard's lists them from a few hundred to a few thousand. I have seen them for around $200.00 from other suppliers on line but worry that they are thin or some other major issue that makes them sooo cheap. The doors can be massaged back to perfect and clean but thought it might be better time wise, to start fresh.

cheers
Peter

Replacing the door skins is not difficult to accomplish as the metal is basically just crimped over the door shell. The difficult part is maintaining the skin "tightness" so you are not left with a buckled skin that will require lots of bondo to fix. Easy for a body guy, could be tough if you've never done it before. My suggestion is to buy some used doors from one of the "dryer climate" salvadge yard sources. I've dealt with EASY in Emeryville, (Northern California) in the past and they have always delivered what you expect. ( have one of their doors on my current project.
