Polished Fuchs on that one, and it will look great.

962, did you ever get the message? I asked you about my car ( also a 78 930) it has a 99 color. I got confirmation from Porsche it was indeed delivered in Matte Schwartz back in 1978

Pretty cool!

Never heard about that before, you?

i get so inundated with people asking about the color of there cars it's not even funny .
today i got 13 emails asking about info on there cars color and the day is only half over .
i had to stop looking up info for people because it just takes up to much of my time .
maybe some day i will go thru all the color info i have from porsche AG and put it all in one big ass book to sell but not at this time .
many old color codes get dropped from the list as the systems get updated . this has to do with the cost to keep the list up to date .
they dropped many when they went from paper to microfiche then again when they went to floppy disc then again to hard disc .

there are also many other reasons why you may not see or find the color codes coming up on any non OE porsche color books . this could have to do with the paint CO's them selfs it cost a **** load of money for a paint CO to up date there colors when they change there paint systems .like for say solvent base to water base colors ther for if there is a color that no one buys they are not going to spend the time and money to match a dead color .
i have gone thru this many times on many postings .
rare colors are 99 , 999 or 9999 color codes only . if your car does not have a 99 code then it's a OE stock color for the year of the car and what is called a standard color even of the color was not a big seller it does not in any way make it rare it's just not popular . that is not to say it's not a nice color .

so what color is it code 291 that is all the info you need to get the color made for the car .
when i put the color number in my paint formula look up it comes right up so your jobber should find it also with out any trubble .

the funny thing is that color 291 was on a 951 porsche we did a little over 2 years ago .
it was a 99 color code for that car .
this past winter the roof fell in on the guys garage when we had a big snow storm of 38" of snow . we never get that much snow here in CT.
the car is a total loss now .

It is one of my all time favorite 1977 911 Turbo colors, and I remember that it was called "Ice" something...so I googled "Porsche ice color" and this was one of the pictures that came up.

i have talked about this many time and the miss info with the coa's .
all they have for color codes are what is on a hard disc . so again if the color was not up dated from the paper or microfiche to the hard disc than in a coa it tells you it's a 99 color even when it's not . all it is they did not move that color code to the up dated format in this case from microfilm to disc .

i a word the coa's are a joke ! i have some for my poesches and two of them are wrong . in one it staes the car is a 6 speed but they never offered the 6 speed untill years later in another model .

the name is not ice green mat.
like i said before you have to get ahold of BASF or the disc from Basf and they have the color number , name and formula to mix the color you will need .

Mine is plain ole boring Black on Black, sunroof delete

For the US market, they imported 461, the lowest number of any year.
Mine is #443

Looking forward to some pix

Still Try to Figure Out My Color

Door tag 291-9-3

The COA is "paint to sample" for exterior color.
The COA is "interior to sample" for interior color.....white seats, green carpet

I had some Ice Green Metallic paint mixed for touch up....but it's a couple shades lighter then mine. I did a electronic paint gage and my paint is original measuring 3.5 to 5.5 mm.

I am having Tony Garcia do new green carpet, but he has not found the correct color yet in Porsche inventory. So I have a car with exterior and interior colors I cannot find the match. I hear a laser color can be done...but need to check it out...

Any thoughts....Porscheman can you help me?

Finally

Porsche got back to me on the code 99 for my 1978 Turbo 930, it took awhile.

Turns out 291 color code is for a special color from GMC for a 1978 Buick. The owner ordered it from a GMC PPG color chart called Medium Green Poly, so I would say it's one of one in this color.

It's code #45 on the GMC color chart attached.
