Chaining on torsion caps.....
Any advise either do or don't on chaining the extention rear torsion caps to pull rear hit. I don't have a Cellet rack, nor do we have Porsche clamps in the city I live in. It seems to be a small hit with two .50 wrinkles in the left bumper frame extension. We are going to heat wrinkles and hope to pull out and up .50 to 1 inch. . I have added a picture and the car is an 85.
Thanks for any and all help. ![]() |

no way not even on that light hit !!!!!! and do not use heat !!! if you use heat and the car gets hit there again your going to be F@#$ed . it will be twice as bad with a smaller hit . and were would you chain down the front ? if your pulling the left rear then the cars nose will want to swing to the left as well . i would weld some angle iron to the rockers and just use the clamps . it may be a little more work ? but if you mess up the alignment by pulling the torsion tube then how would you plan on doing that repair . look at the mounting points for the tube . the tube looks beaffy but it only goes to sheet mettal . it looks like it needs a pull up as well as out and over . you will be refinishing the rocker on the left side so there is not much more work there . and as for the right side rocker to repair that after you cut off the angle iron thats no big real . feather out out the chip guard rechip guard and blend off the color and clear . its way under the car and if the tech knows his biz your looking at maybe an hour to an hour an a half of labor. remember your working a crumple zone so it will need about a 3000 LBS pull thats alot for a torsion tube in a way that it was not made to go .
