Why are there Doors without reinforcement
 
I just picked up a door to replace one of mine and just noticed that it doesn't have any side impact reinforcement metal and it doesn't look like it has been cut out.

Do the Euro or any cars come without it?

pre 74 doors don't have the side impact bar

30 lbs and almost 4 hp per door

i just weighed my stripped doors,
impact bar 33#
non impact 28#
i though a 30 pounds difference was a tad high

the door that I picked up has the metal mounts on the door frame but it doesn't look like any reinforcement bar was ever there.
