Making your own fibreglass parts and pieces
Hey everyone, new to the bodywork side of the forum, did a quick search and didn't come across anyone popping out their own fibreglass body panels.
I've been wanting to lighten up the back end of my car and go fiberglass with the bumper and deck lid for a while now, looked at some places online and I know I can make my own for considerably less. Plus, it just sounds like a fun project to me. My experience with fibreglass comes from surfboards- I'm comfortable with dealing with the cloth, resins, and lots of sanding. Preparing forms and dealing with fitment issues, and then going to paint are all new processes for me. Has anyone tried to do this from scratch before? I'm going to keep digging around on this but are there any good books or resources online available that anyone knows of? TIA Aaron
