Question Fibreglass rear panel and exhausts????

Hi All,
anyone experienced with fibreglass panels?????
I have just fitted a fibreglass yellowbird rear bumper/panel and was looking for advice on how safe this is as it runs pretty close to the exhaust system - is fibreglass safe with heat near to it? Will it melt or worse still, catch fire?
I could wrap the muffler but was wondering if indeed the exhaust heat could cause problems with the panel.
As always, any info / advice greatly appreciated.
Regards

Jammo.

I haven't had any issues with my BW Motorsport Yellowbird bumpers, with headers and M&K muffler, but I did drill two 2.5" holes in the center of the bumper behind the license plate. For occasional street use you don't see it, but on the track with the plate removed it gives a place for the trapped air/heat to escape.

I have a fiberglass panel very close to the muffler. So far, so good. But. I'd like to find some formable heat shield material.

I'm about to install an M&K GT3 style muffler on my 72 with FG rear bumper. When I test fitted it was very close to the rear bumper compared to my Franken-magnaflow style muffler. I added some hi heat reflective tape ( http://www.thermotec.com/products/full/13500/13500.html) to the rear bumper which comes in pretty big pieces. I then sent the muffler out to have it ceramic coated (2000 degree black satin) so hopefully this will work.
