1983 turbo front valance removal
The car- 911 widebody supersport turbo 3.0
Need instructions on swapping out an early front valance (with floating fogs) on wide bodied turbo for a recessed fog 3.2 valance. The biggest hurdle I envisage is seperating off the rubber spoiler that goes up to the front frenders/wings. Would I need to take the bumper, valance & chin spoiler in one piece to swap-out the valance. The reason for the swapout is that the lamp brackets are tearing the valance , I've already got 1 inch horizontal tears at the mount points. is this normal? Cheers, Jaz ![]()

If it's the same as an 83 SC which looking at the parts catalogue it is very similar then you can remove the valance without removing the bumper.
You'll see some bolts inside the fenders and a couple (2 I think) inside the trunk. It's pretty easy to remove without the bumper. Inside the fenders you'll see where it is connected to the bellows and extension panel. Once you have the valance off you can easily remove the chin spoiler - you can of course do this with the valance still on but I would find it easier to take off with the valance on a bench then lying on my back.
