Simple Paint Color Question
With an original Porsche paint code (in this case Ivory, 17657) in hand, can anyone (PPG etc) make it up? Many thanks,
|
Ay yup, that is exactly what I did last week.
Bought a Pint of Guards Red (#80K) in MTK Acrylic Urethane (PPG Omni 2k). Took them about 10 minutes to mix it up! |
Many thanks.

Hi Jim,
I've been talking with Central City Autobody here in town (Gutierrez St.), the local PPG dealer, and they'd probably be the ones to go to. They say no problem on matching 1970 Tangerine/Blutorange. I haven't had a chance to say hi since meeting you for a test drive of your recently sold 1973, about a year and a half ago. I ended up diving into the deep end of a complete restoration: http://mk911.blogspot.com. Hope to cross paths with you again one of these days, maybe after I have a working car. Cheers, Mike |
Hi Mike,
Well you said you wanted a project... looks like you've found one! I'm thinking of a repaint on my 74 but can't seem to close in on a color. |
