Third brake light on whaletail

My whaletail decklid did not come with a third light. I have the parts and notice it came with two mounting bolts with a narrow backing metal plate. I also notice that the base is not flush and has a slight dip, does that rear corner dip hang at the edge off the decklid and if it does the mouting bolts is center between the edge and the rear panel. I was wondering where does the bolt hold on to? I assume it needed several hole drilled on to and where does the backing metal plate comes in. anyway I am trying to vision how this housing is attach to the decklid and thus avoiding drilling any holes. I could use some help, can someone tell me how its factory done. thanks for your assistant.

the cabriolet brake light you have mounts up near the rear cowel on the deck lid whaletail seam . if you have a none porsche tail then the contour may not be the same ?

I had to drill 3 holes. Two for the bolts and 1 for wiring.
