floor pans

can any one tell me are the short floor pans just for repair panels or can you use them for whole floor out repairs or do you have to use the long panels for that

if you need to replace the hole pan then get the full panel . i only use the 1/2 pan panels for patch work .

floor pan halves are fine

I wasn't aware the full pans (if I understand the question correctly) were available anywhere. I used the front and back halves for my complete replacment, as have a few others I've seen on the forums. I welded them together before installation, although I don't think that was absolutely necessary. As with a single pan, it just required very careful alignment.

Here's a few pictures from my replacement, and there are others posted earlier on the blog too:

Good luck,

Mike, great link! Katie must be your dog or perhaps daughter or your wife is the Patron Saint of Rear Weight Bias. my wife thought restoration meant getting a pretty new paint job....

The half pans work fine and can be butt welded, with patience, careful measurements, and care stitch weld so as not to overheat the metal. Invisible seams are possible, theoretically. The full pans are also about 3 times what you would pay for and front and rear half pan. Make sure to get pans that are at least 18 guage though. Some of the aftermarket stuff is 20 or even thinner guage. I got ******** front pan (which is what pelican sells) and it is 18 guage and great fit. Also ~ $250.

I am doing one half at a time for less risk getting the chassis out of alignment. Good luck.
