71E Targa - worth restoring?

I picked up this Targa to restore, but now I am reconsidering. It needs EVERYTHING!! Inner / outer rockers, floor pan, front pan, door jambs, etc.. Please look at the pictures and let me know if you think she is worth resoring. If so, where do I start? I can weld, but may be in over my head here. I am thinking gut her out and blast to see exactly what I have, and then go from there.

Thanks,
BK

Hi,

I would have to say no. It's not worth the time required to do the job properly.
Others would say " Run Forest Run " ...

It really makes me sad to see these fine cars so neglected.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

it needs a lot of work, certainly not for the faint of heart.
but everything i see is fixable.
do you have skills? are you willing to learn? are you in a hurry?
you'll need time and money.
if either is in short supply, sell it or store it.
it is an E, about the same build #'s as the S, rarer than a T.
maybe worth saving to somebody else.

you're looking at A LOT of work, no question about it. all depends on what you want out of the project. I'm tackling something similar just for the experience of doing it. it will be expensive and hard work and you'll keep finding rust the more you cut. but, it can be incredibly fun and rewarding. don't underestimate the cost, it's significant. as a part time project, you're looking at a couple of years worth of work.

edit - oops, bob beat me to it

Thanks guys. I think I am bailing. I have done several front pans, but this is too much for me. Too bad, this was my dream car.
