Burgundy Red for 1970 911

I am having trouble finding the original color for my 1970 911T. According to the color code, the color is 017/2424 Burgundy Red. I have called several shops here in San Diego, and they have told me that color is not coming up on their inventory for 1970 Porsche colors.
Does anyone know where to find this color?

I just bought PPG Envirobase Tangerine, original code 018. They couldn't find it searching on that, but it came up with POR018. If you're looking at other brands, though, all bets are off. Also this was indexed under the German name Blutorange, but not Tangerine. Trying your color's German name, burgundrot, might help.

BASF glasurit is what porsche uses for coatings on there cars . if i were you i would call or go see a BASF color source jober (paint store ) . off the top of my head the color burgundy red met. was used in 76-77 with the color # of 436 ? if i was at my shop i would look it up . but i'm going racing and will not be able to do so untill i get back on weds .

Lucky for you, I'm getting ready to paint my bahia red 70S and found that Glasurit produces classic paint codes for Porsche in most of their paint ranges.
In fact, they even have an online tool to show the formula (might help a local Glasurit dealer)

and yes, you have the correct 2424 code for 1970
