Need help making a decision

Hi Everyone,

I bought an 82 Targa last year that has some questionable paint. There is paint chipping by the drivers mirror, bumpers and trunk have numerous chips, there are some dings and dents that need to be fixed so I knew when I bought it that I would have to repaint. I will not be doing the painting myself but I thought that I may be able to get the prep work done (then have it painted by a friend in his shop). My questions is am I better off to dismantle the car and have each individual piece painted or should I leave the car in one piece and prep and paint it that way. I have already started taking the car apart but I'm not to far into it to put it back together. I'm a newbie. Be gentle.

Unless you have a lot of time and experience I say put it back together and pay someone. It will be done in 2 weeks and you can be enjoying your car vs. who knows if you do it yourself.
