Porsche Crest 911 '83 nose repair with 964 donor possible?

Hi all,

Been reading this forum a lot as it is a goldmine for information. However I could not find an answer to my question.
I have a 911 SC '83 with a damaged front nose (hit a high truck , luckily only the top side is damaged, floor pan/fueltank is still OK). In the corner where the hood and the headlight used to be, the chassis is damaged. Now I have found a good condition 964 nose from a donor/scrap car. Can I use this to repair my 911 front end? I'm a bit afraid the geometry is different and the donor part is not usable.

I'll attach some pics so you know what I'm talking about.

the damaged front. Please note the front oil cooler. I have a 3.6 engine from a 964 in there. The car is also a 964 look with the 964 bumpers etc..

This is the replacement nose from a 964 cut from a donor car I can buy for around 300$ I have to drive far to get this so I want to be sure before I buy something unusable.

Hope you experts can give me an answer!

Best Regards

If you are updating your car you could use it. It would be a lot of work though. I would wait for the right front clip. There are many out there and they are usually $300.00 or less. Place a WTB in the parts section and you should have a few people with them for sale.

I think the pick up points for the suspension may be different too.

Good luck.

Not the right replacement part if you just want to repair the damage. Wait for the right cut. I think anything from 74-89 will be OK.

Actually Van Nuys sounds like native (Dutch) to me, but I'm from EU, Belgium Guess it will cost more in shipping than the parts value itself.. But thanks for looking!
