1970 911T Door hinge repair help needed

Howdy Folks.

I have owned a 1970 911T for nine years.

Recently the drivers door hinge sheet metal began to flex resulting in an ungodly noise. I inspected it and it appears that it was repaired before me with a metal plate on the inside.

I purchased a hinge plate repair kit but no go.

The only solution is to find a competent body shop in the San Diego area (where I live) who has experience repairing the early door hinge sheet metal .

Any one here have any recommendations?

You might even consider buying a good used pre '73 door (without crash bar).

The cost and time to repair your door may outway the cost to purchase another door.

Thanks for the thought. I am kind of an original nut but looks like I will start looking for a door just in case.
