Rocker repaint Question
Did the below-door rocker panels on an SC have a textured paint from the factory?
If so, what should be used to duplicate that texture?

Yes.
It is also on the rear quarter extensions and the inner fender lips. Front and rear splash pans. Wurth SKS stone guard is the product. you should see a line running down the side of the rocker where it used to be. use that line when taping it off.

Hello, here I have got a set of rocker panels for my '76 930. Bought these 2nd hand, as my car was missing them. Plan is to restore to original looks.
Since buying the rocker panels, have done: (1) Removed all paint to bare metal (2) Removed surface rust in some places (3) Painted 1 layer of 2K epoxy primer on either side of the panels. Used a brush to apply paint. - plan still to paint a couple of layers. Sand highest hills down slightly.. brush painting is not that smooth. I will soon spray Wurth SKS stone guard on the panels. Questions please - Does one: (a) Flatten paintwork prior to Wurth SKS stone guard? (b) or first spray Wurth SKS, and then sand the stone guard? - can you sand the Wurth -stuff? (c) Can one apply Wurth SKS with a regular paint gun? Bought a larger (2mm) nozzle for the paint gun. - I am actually a paint gun virgin, never used one before... ![]() All comments welcome.. ![]()

You can get the stone guard from Wurth in a spray can. The texture is not as "textured" but its close. With the gun you can dial the texture in and out. I think a got the Wurth from Autogeek.
