Plans for a 911 front end body repair jig?

The 911 porsche repair manual shows a picture of a front end jig to test for body straightness and to correct "minor front end damage". Its not a Celette.

Looks pretty simple, attaches to the suspension pickup points and the front body points.

I plan on building this jig, and would love to know if anyone has seen pics that are more detailed then the ones in the manual. It looks pretty straightforward, and I was going to use 2x4 1/8 inch steel. Got the TIG and MIG all ready. Have 5 ton HF body jacks (which are fabulous by the way ).

My car was apparantly backed into at the left front wheel in its past. It tracks straight once catser was adjusted, hood alignment is perfect, but the left front wheel is about 1cm deviated to the passenger side and 1cm to the back. It drives me nuts to know that. I want to beautify the rest of the car, but need to get this perfect first.

I would think that using a body jig would make it fairly straight forward to move the pickup points 1 cm. Any places I need to remove spot welds so it has some "give"?

Some of you might be thinking that its just easier to go to a body shop... Well, the car is apart, wheels off, suspension off, as I want to do the repair correctly. Also, I don't know of any local shops with a Cellete.

Anyone ever done this before? Thoughts?

I saw some old posts where folks built a jig for a 356 body restoration, or tried to recreate a Celette. But I hardly ever see mention of the jig shown in the 911 workshop manual...

you realy only need a jig to build not to see of it out of spec . what is needed is a measuring tram gage and the underhood dimensions . you don't drill out spot welds before you do your pulls . you want every thing to move back to were it was . from the spec dimensions you have 2.5 MM + and - making it a total of 5MM of play before its out of spec .
