Targa Bar advice

Hello,

I have an 88 Targa with the bar painted black. Any suggestions on detailing the exterior of the bar? Thanks - hope this is the best forum for the needed advice. Best, yaz

Since it is a bit porous am worried about wax making it looked oxidized rather than shiny.

they should have a satin finish to them . you can use a quik detailer spray on them . some thing like mothers or meguirs spray detailer . just spray it on and wipe it off with a detail rag .

Yaz,

" it does seem to have texture a bit".

I think that is why 962 wanted to know your definition of detailing. Are you looking to refinish the bar as in repaint and add the pebbling? or are you detailing it as in wash, wax, etc and want to apply a product that will highlight and protect the bar? Be a little more specific on what it is you are doing and 962 will be able to direct you better on how to go about your task.

when i was a kid (good god that was a long time ago ! ) i made the mistake of putting paste wax on the targa bar to my car . it never look right after that ! the thing about satin finshes is there is not much you can do with them . most all products out there will change the way they should look and not always for the better . so when they get real bad you just refinish them .
