How to repair rust hole near VIN tag
Has anyone successfully repaired a rust hole like this so close to the vin tag? Is it possible to source a new sticker?
Thanks, Mike ![]() ![]()

Bird. It's the word...

I'm pretty sure you won't be able to save that sticker - it's too close to where you'll be making heat with cutting wheels and welders...

...thats what I'm afraid of. I would really like to keep that sticker!
Any idea of where to source. Possibly call Porsche COA?

porsche can get you a new vin decal but you will have to come up with proof of ownership . as john knows the rust will go alot farther up the piller then it looks like . if your going to replace the lock piller and you may have to . one reason is that you will find that the back half of the outer rocker is also rusted out and to gain eccess to do the repair on the rocker you will have to cut the bottom of the QTR and the lock piller just below the stricker/latch on the piller . if that is the case then you could cut around the vin tag and copy it onto a good quality sticky back photo paper . if its done right then most people will never know you replaced it .
