Help with sunroof seal

I am looking at installing the Pelican oem replacement SUNROOF seal part#911-564-191-00-M136 on my 1977 Porsche 911. The problem I am having is there was not one on the car previously so I do not know where the new seal attaches to. Is it the opening frame of the roof or the actually sunroof panel itself and how does it get attached. Any help would be appreciated

Front sunroof seal......

This seal is to be glued to the body, not the sunroof. You will need to open the sunroof, make certain that the sides and front of the sunroof opening are clean and then, using great care, apply contact cement or autombile trim cement (3M makes a good product) to the vertical edge of the sides and front. Once that is done, use a small (paint) brush and put some of the contact cement on the back (flat) side of the seal. The slightly larger rounded edge goes to the top, facing inward. Make sure that the seal is attached so the the top, rounded edge is just slightly above the roof (by maybe 1/32 " or so). Also, be sure to find the center of the seal and the center of the front of the sunroof opening. That way the seal will be centered. The back edges of the seal will drop down slightly over the last inch or so. You might want to tape the painted part of the roof with some blue painters tape to keep excess glue off of the paint. Good luck with your project!
