Rear Window Gasket Question
 

Hey guys,

I have a rear window that is leaking and I need to buy a new gasket to replace the bad one. Who makes the best gasket for a 1974 911 coupe? In looking at my car's current gasket there appears to be a grove for the trim piece but the trim is not installed. I suppose I need a gasket without the groove.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

i am wondering this also, my trim is pretty beat up and dis-colored...i am going to replace all my gasket during paint, and wondering if they make a gasket without the groove for trim

does anyone have pics of window with no trim?

The 964/993 window rubbers are sans groove and are a direct fit.

Porsche makes the best gasket. The metal trim whether bright aluminum or the black is needed for the gasket to work properly. The PO left the trim out on my 71 and the resulting rust on the parcel tray, well it ain't pretty. So when ya install a new gasket make sure that the trim is in when you do it. I can not be done after the fact. I know first hand.
