Door repair panels
I have doors from a '70 Couple that have rust along the bottom edge of the door. The rust is bad enough in spots that I'm considering the 6" door skin repair panels from RD or Stoddard.
SIC-531-012-10 Door Skin Bottom Repair Panel Right. Fits 911 65-89 Has anyone used these panels, and is the fit reasonable? Any comments appreciated. |

Honestly I'd bite the bullet and spring for a complete door skin. There's far less welding and the cost and effort isn't that much more. Just my opinion.

Thanks Kevin.
I may do just that. I plan to strip both doors to see how bad the rust really is. All I see now are small bubbles but assuming if there is smoke there must be fire under all the paint. Question to the forum: Can a door skin be uncrimped, edge sand blasted, and then recrimped? Is there a special tool to uncrimped and crimp a door edge? |
