Can any color tail be re-painted differently?
 

Sorry for the noob question.

I want a tail, finding my color is near impossible.

If I buy another color is it difficult to match?
Do they strip the FG or paint over it?
Would a particular original color yield better results?
Should I look for a lighter toned original?

Was considering a black one I saw for sale and having it color matched.

jim a shop can refinish any tail . why is finding your color near impossible ? is it an OE color ? if you can find a painter he should be able to match the color . if you take it to a sprayer calling him self a painter then he can't match the color . that is if the color on the car you want match is in good shape . if the tail has only one paint job on it then its ok to refinish over the top of it . if it was painted 2 or more time then the finish needs to be removed before it gets painted the color you want . it does not matter what color tail you look for light or dark it can get refinished any color . a painter will know how to do the job the right way .
