Grand Prix White - Paint Match Question
I have a lead on an engine lid for my 1982 Grand Prix White (Code 908) l from a 1990 Grand Prix White (Code 908) car. Both cars are 911's
My question is this - is 1990 GPW (908) the same as 1982 GPW (908)? Would I be naive to ASSume it would be a match.

code 908 was used from 1973 to 1996. there are 6 variants on that color . the chance that the color will match dead nuts is about 5 to 1 . but the color match should be ok for the most part because of the way the QTR's roll down away from the lid even if the color is just a little off you may not realy see it .

Quarterpanels.
You'd be more likely to win the lottery than get a perfect paint match that's 29 years old, even if you bought an engine lid from the same color & same year car. Take a chance, and if it isn't close enough & it bothers you, get it painted to match. |
