Paint Restore Question

I have tr-3 resin glaze, restores oxidized finishes, but it warns about using on any paint with metal flakes. I have used it on the india red, worked really good. Anybody know if ok to use on the diamond blue paint?

It is ok if you are polishing clearcoat. I THINK, but not sure, that Glasurit was a basecoat clearcoat with the metallic colors in the mid 80's. I looked up the paint on the glasurit color chart and the paint uses system MA 373 50 which I cannot find on Google to indicate it is bc/cc.

Hopefully someone will know.

the fender on your 944 needs to be repainted ! the clear coat has failed and must be removed . there is no saving it at this point ! there are a couple of ways of doing it . the 1st would be to remove all of the top coat with a DA sander leaving most of the under coats . doing it that way has some pluses and some minuses . the pluses would be cost , speed of doing the job , the minus would be the finish will only last about 2 to 5 years before you would start to see some failing of the finish starting to come back again . the other way to do it would be to remove all the top and under coats striping the finish right down to bare metal . the down side to doing it that way would be cost and it will add more time in doing the job . the plus is that the finish will last much longer . on average about 5 to 10 years . longer if the car is not a daily driver .
